Orinda Acupuncture: Benjamin Dierauf, LAc

Benjamin Dierauf, LAc, brings 25+ years of experience to help you recover and maintain balance and health. This includes the treatment of aches and pains, injuries, digestive disorders, gynecological issues, allergies, immune deficiencies, fatigue, sleep disorders and stress, and many other conditions. For information on conditions we work with, check out ‘Conditions Treated’.

We are located on the West side of Walnut Creek, right next to the border with Lafayette on Camino Diablo. If you live nearby you can arrive by taking ground streets such as Main St, California Blvd, and Oakland Blvd to Mt Diablo Blvd and then right on to Camino Diablo. If you take the freeway, ignore Google and take the Pleasant Hill North exit off of Highway 13, and then right onto Stanley Blvd at Acalanes High School, followed by a right onto Camino Diablo one block later. Be aware of significant traffic when Acalanes High School lets out at 3:05 pm on week days.

Your first visit to us will include a detailed review of the issues affecting your health and quality of life. From this, we will work out a comprehensive treatment plan together. Besides acupuncture, we may prescribe herbal medicine and supplements, and use other methods to help you, including bodywork, moxa, suction cups and guasha (dermal scraping). We may also recommend that you get Functional Medicine lab tests specific for your situation. For more information, check out ‘Common Acupuncture Questions’.

If you’re spending time in Orinda, California, here are some fun, low-key things to do around town that mix nature, local charm, and a bit of culture. One of the best ways to start is by taking a stroll through Orinda Village, where you’ll find boutique shops, relaxed cafés like Geppetto’s, and spots to grab a bite outdoors.

If you’re into the outdoors, you’ve got amazing hiking right nearby. The Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, and the ridgelines along the Oakland Hills offer panoramic views and well-kept trails. For a little more offbeat fun, Orinda is also home to the Maynard Buehler House, a private residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright that occasionally opens for events. You can also catch a movie at the historic Orinda Theatre.

When it comes to wellness and bodywork, there are quite a few to choose from. Just Say Yes Massage is highly rated for therapeutic work. Devana Thai Massage & Spa specializes in traditional Thai techniques.

If you’re looking to support local small businesses, Orinda has a few gems worth checking out. Bloomin’ Designs is a beautiful flower shop with custom arrangements, while Orinda Books is the kind of indie bookstore where you’ll actually want to hang out. ReCHIC offers curated secondhand fashion and home items.

Now, if you’re a coffee or café person, there are a few places that stand out. Cafe Teatro is great for both coffee and live music events. Geppetto’s Caffe is both a café and a community favorite for breakfast or lunch. The Village Inn Café has a more classic diner vibe, perfect for casual breakfasts or weekend brunch, and a newer spot called Nine Tailed Fox that offers more boutique-style drinks with a creative flair.

So whether you’re into hiking, grabbing coffee, reading a book in a local store, or just exploring what a small but vibrant town has to offer, Orinda has a little something for you—without having to go far from home.
