Functional Medicine Costs (Medical Fee Schedule):

Additional costs for Functional Medicine include lab tests and supplements. Lab tests range in cost from $195 to $525 each. If you order the 3 basic types of labs that we use in our program, this would cost in the range of $1085 to $1360. For information on the types of labs that we use, go to About Functional Medicine.

Supplements are ordered from an online dispensary, and depending on the conditions being addressed, usually range in cost from $200 to $400 per month. Depending on the complexity, Functional Medicine treatment programs last anywhere from 3 to 18 months.

Acupuncture Insurance Coverage

Many healthcare insurance plans have acupuncture as a covered modality with various ranges of reimbursement. We will bill your insurance directly for acupuncture related procedures and diagnoses if you have the appropriate acupuncture insurance coverage.

    • Acupuncture insurance coverage depends on your individual plan. If you’d like to know if your health insurance provides acupuncture coverage for services that I provide, please download, complete, and email (bdierauf@gmail.com) or fax (925-403-1001) the Acupuncture Insurance Coverage Inquiry Form, along with digital photos of the front and back of your Health Insurance Card.

    Health Savings Accounts

    Acupuncture is a legitimate expense for reimbursement from Health Savings Accounts.

    Workers’ Comp

    Workers’ Comp cases are accepted with proper authorization. I treat patients as a physician within the Workers’ Comp system working with your Primary Treating Provider. I do not manage cases as a Primary Treating Provider.

    We are also a member of the City and County of San Francisco Medical Provider Network that services city employees, primarily Workers’ Comp.

    Personal Injury

    I accept Personal Injury cases with proper documentation.

    Financial Hardship

    Financial Hardship Waivers are available to limit out-of-pocket expenses.
